Amen, I honestly agree with you. I have been in some Church of God services that I just wanted to leave, because God was not in it.
If the music is turned up to a level that can cause permanent hearing damage, God is not in it. God wants us to have abundant life, not deafness. That’s my biggest gripe about many contemporary worship services.
Be careful that you don’t call your personal preferences “of God” while others styles are not. Doesn’t Psalms tell us to praise him with the drums? On cymbals and stringed instruments?? I think today God CAN be in most any style of music. I enjoy the loud shouting type of worship as well as the more quiet intimate type of worship. And I also love the hymns as well. Our team has reworked some of the hymns a bit and I think they’ve been great. Look around you. God is a God of diversity. Don’t you think there’s room for diverse kinds of worship?
I don’t mind loud, but am concern when the decible level reaches dangerous levels.

The typical good worship service is at least 1/2 hour. Above 97 decibels, hearing loss results.
And if you are running a sound system, and have it above those levels, you are responsible for causing damage to the body of Christ.
