For many years now Doyle has provided a forum in which Church of God ministers (and others) could engage one another per any number of issues. I would like to thank Doyle for Actscelerate. In recent months it has been suggested that posters are leaving Acts, with the allusion that it may be the fault—partially or in full—of Old Time Country Preacher. OTCP has been with Acts from its inception. Acts has been a place of serious debate, dialogue and discussion. It has also been a forum for fun, lightheartedness and banter.That said, it is not my wish for the parody to be the cause of anyone leaving, so perhaps this is a good time for a sabbatical—perhaps even a permanent sabbatical. After reading this post, some may say “good riddance” or “don’t let the door hit you” or “it’s about time.” No problem, everyone has a right to their own opinion and viewpoint. Via the parody of OTCP I have had no problem sharing mine.As I bid a fond farewell to my fellow posters/peers, it is important to me that each of you know I have no animosity toward anyone. Even those who hold a different position than I on particular points of doctrine, ethics, polity, etc., you remain my brother/sister in Christ. Forgive me if I have offended you in any way. I covet your prayers as I continue serving in His kingdom. Hold fast to the faith! Reject error! Walk ethically! Just to add to the frey, here is a quote from Bismarck who lived a wild life in Germany before settling down to marriage. ” I like piety in a woman and abhor all feminine cleverness.” Later when he gave speeches read by millions in Europe he liked it that his wife never read his speeches nor offered any opinions about his leadership. So just another way of saying that we men remain ambiguous about how we think about that other half of the human race.

You people on this page do not represent the COG I belong to. Get your mind out of the gutter. I have been in the COG 74 years and most of the garbage you quote drives people away from God. Wake up and get back to what is important winning people to Christ.

Levi Chavis You seem to put this point above many others. It is clear you don’t have a lot of respect for women. Jesus has made it clear to me what he thinks about me. Somehow, I don’t think you quite think the same way He does. I’ll go and listen to Him more.
When I think of the struggles that women have had and still go through my heart goes out to them. My mother with her beautiful red hair and freckled face coming down with cancer in her early forties. My sister losing her mom when she was five and her hard struggles to become a successful woman who is now sixty five.Then there are the many homes I have visited where mothers with three or more children, sometimes with black eyes or bruises I remember one where they had run out of food but some cold oatmeal was thick and hanging off the table about a foot. In general I think that women have got a rawer deal out of life than men.
