  1. Every church that’s right with God ought to have a sign Male Leadership…It’s a man’s world…. …Get up!www.youtube.com/watch?v=kkL81KiGZOg

  2. The Bible does not support female elders and bishops, yes deacons and prophet are females but it is true that leadership is male leaders________________

  3. Yes! There are churches like that all over. People wonder why women will attend a church like that, but there are various reasons.

  4. I just listened to an interview today with a woman, Trisha Wilkerson, who attended Mark Driscoll’s church in Seattle (before it imploded). Driscoll was very much into the male leadership, gender roles, etc. Trisha came across as very intelligent and articulate and explains her thinking about the time she spent there. What often happens, I think, is that women just try to exercise their giftings in whatever limited way they are able in those kinds of situations. In other words, if they are restricted from leading men, they still lead other women and children. If the women are married and their husbands are quite involved in the church, sometimes they just suppress the feelings of being limited or unappreciated for the sake of their husbands.Sometimes, it’s only after they have been freed from a situation like that that they realize how bad it was. Then, too, there are women who benefit from the system in that they are made a spokesperson to persuade other women. As long as they are benefitting from the system, they don’t really question it very much.

  5. a woman can’t be an elder or bishop and that doesn’t mean she can’t lead. There are vast examples of women leading in the Bible________________

  6. Now you’re talking out of both sides of your mouth. You said above, it is true that leadership is male leaders, and now you are saying, There are vast examples of women leading in the Bible.

  7. Yes, the Bible prohibits women from being an elder or Bishop. She can be an elder when she can be the husband of one wife________________

  8. If that was the first time I had ever heard that, I might think it was clever. Alas and alack, it’s just more eisegesis and foolishness. You allow that they can be deacons, yet the same reasoning you use to claim women can’t be bishops could be used to say they can’t be deacons.www.actscelerate.com/viewtopic.php?t=66092

  9. That’s cute, too. I showed how your logic was amiss by saying a bishop had to be a husband; and rather than answering that, you change the subject. You are trying to imply that a lack of examples is the same thing as an explicit prohibition.Of course, if I wanted to get prickly, I might just point you to 1 Timothy 5:2where the women are referred to as presbyteros, the same word used of male elders. Not that I expect you to change your mind.I was just reading through some threads in the Acts’ archives. You weren’t around, but some of the same arguments were.
