Travis Johnson, a pastor who sometimes posts here, posted the following on Facebook yesterday:It is with sadness and an overwhelming sense of victory and hope, that we announce the passing of the patriarch of our family, Pastor John T. Johnson.For 71 years, he showed how to live and love well. He lived with passion for Jesus, Gospel values, love for family and neighbor, a high view and love for the church, and the strongest possible work ethic. This morning, after a courageous battle with cancer, he finished his race well receiving his heavenly reward.His prayer has been, “that every breath would have purpose.†Truly, every breath has.All services will be at Pathway Church – Moffett Campus 7200 Moffett Road in Mobile, Alabama 36618. A visitation will be held Thursday, July 12, 5-7 PM. The funeral service will be the same day at 7 PM. Tomorrow morning a crew from Life Pointe will be heading to Mobile for the service. Pastor JT pastored Homestead Church of God for many years before Travis became pastor in 2003 and the name was changed to Life Pointe Church. Even when I got here 2 1/2 years ago Pastor JT was heavily involved in the ministry of the church.
