I think God wants to get across to us: True riches vs. bobbles and beads.Imagine if people were so close to God, and filled with joy and peace that they felt like they needed nothing else. Then any material blessings they might receive from God would be icing on the cake. That's a great life! But reading Jeremiah 29:11, it seems to me that the plans God was speaking of were more When seventy years are completed. He was essentially saying, You're going into captivity. Get that straight. But that doesn't mean I don't have great plans for you in the future. So don't lose hope. But I agree, I can see Babylon as being a part of His plan at that time, at least a preparation for a greater fulfillment. Even in their captivity, God showed He was still with them.
